Introduction

Government Polytechnic College, Ezhukone, was established in the year 2004, under the Directorate of Technical Education in Kollam District. Initially, the College was started in the infrastructure of Government Technical High School, Ezhukone. Mr. Raju G was the first Principal. Initially, the college was started with three Diploma branches in Engineering – Computer Hardware Engineering, Electronics and Communication, and Mechanical Engineering. The college had an initial intake of 63 students each. The college was located in the center point of Kollam district and students from any place inside the district can easily access by Rail / Road means of transportation.

In 2006, Government Technical High School, Ezhukone was shifted to another location in Ezhukone and the whole land is transferred for the smooth functioning of Government Polytechnic College, Ezhukone. With the financial assistance from NABARD and Government of Kerala, the college now has its own infrastructure and buildings in 6.5 acres of land. The college now has its own stadium with pavilion.

The college has a modern hostel for ladies aside the Campus constructed under the financial assistance from MHRD. The College has a Principal’s Quarters inside the Campus. Being a new college, the college has its own Modern state of the art infrastructure like Computing laboratory facilities, Electronics laboratories, Mechanical laboratories, General Workshop, Science labs, Digital Library, Health clubs etc. The College also has a cafeteria inside the Campus.

Ever since the inception, the College has maintained its eminence as a leading Polytechnic College in Kerala
